Content Policy for Publishers
Magic Desktop not only includes a variety of offline games and educational content developed by Easybits but also includes its own child-safe Internet browser and provides a list of third-party web resources (available for free) that our content editors deem appropriate for children. Parents can choose whether to block ads and other irrelevant content on these web pages.
Magic Browser
The Magic Browser is specifically designed to provide a safe browsing experience for children. It includes curated third-party web resources that have been reviewed by our content editors to ensure they are appropriate for young users.
Content Restrictions
When parents enable content restrictions in Magic Desktop, the browser operates in "child mode" which may block certain elements such as:
- Advertisements
- Third-party tracking scripts
- Pop-ups and overlays
- Other content deemed inappropriate for children
Opt-Out Process for Publishers
If you, as a website owner, don't want to serve content to children under these restrictions, you can refuse by returning a 412 "Precondition Failed" HTTP status code to stop navigation in the Magic Browser.
This allows you to maintain control over how your content is delivered and ensures that you can enforce your own content policies.
Browser Detection
To detect that our browser is navigating to your resource in child mode, you can check the HTTP request header called X-Magic-Desktop-Browser.
If the value is "child_mode", the parents have chosen the above restriction option.
